QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:

- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution;
- Minimum of two (2) years of prior college or university student services experience;
- Demonstrated knowledge of the admissions processes, including analysis of transcripts, credit transfer, and articulated 2+2 programs;
- Ability to maintain strict accuracy and be detail oriented;
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and be self-motivated;
- Proven commitment to student success;
- Strong analytical and research skills;
- Demonstrated initiative in solving problems and implementing processes;
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills;

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

- Ensuring the integrity of all academic records in compliance with state and College policy as well as accreditation standards;
- Reviewing all incoming transcripts and entering information into the student information system;
- Conducting all graduation certification procedures while adhering to policies surrounding degree completion.
- Maintaining clear notes in the student information system;
- Communicating with prospective students and College staff/faculty;
- Updating student records with evaluation status and admissions requirements;
- Storing and retrieving documents from institution’s document storage system;
- Maintaining a strong working knowledge of all of IRSC’s programs, as well as a general knowledge of many areas of student services including admissions, financial aid, advising, and curriculum services.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to
- Entering data into the student information system, including records corrections.
- Processing incoming transcripts.
- Imaging documents to student records.
- Researching student records.
- Independently researching course descriptions and course catalogs from source documentation;
- Exercising independent judgment to evaluate the applicability and equivalency of prior postsecondary coursework in relation to the current program;
- Evaluating credentials (transcripts) of applicants;
- Working a schedule that will meet the needs of the department and our students, which may include working until 6:30 PM as required;
- Collaborating with the Recruitment and Admissions department to ensure a streamlined and effective admissions process;
- Evaluating and posting credit earned through multiple accelerated mechanisms, including AP, CLEP, IB, and AICE testing programs as prescribed by the statewide Articulation Coordinating Committee;
- Evaluating previously earned credits from other postsecondary institutions to determine academic placement;
- Completing other duties as assigned by the Graduation & Articulation Coordinator.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
