**Your Tasks**:
With more than 450 researchers, our skin research center in Hamburg is one of the largest and most advanced in the world. We offer excellent opportunities to conduct doctoral thesis with high scientific relevance in our research environment. In our research department, we analyze changes in the skin to identify new starting points for developing new skin care products.

You will be part of an interdisciplinary team of biologists and bioinformaticians and will enhance your scientific skills in both academic and industrial contiditions. In addition, you will have the opportunity to gain insight into the research and development processes of a leading global skin care company.

**Your tasks**:

- Identify fundamental mechanisms of skin aging through functional analysis involving genome-wide skin-specific datasets
- Search for new biological targets to develop new treatments for various skin alterations

**Your Profile**:

- Completed master studies in biomedicine, biochemistry, molecular biology or comparable studies
- Experience with cell culture, molecular biological methods, flow cytometry and functional analyses (siRNA and CRISPR/Cas9 screens)
- Ideally knowledge in bioinformatics analyses and evaluations of genome-wide datasets
- Ideally experience in the immunology field
- Ability to work efficiently both autonomously and as part of a team
- Very good English and ideally German language skills
