**Geologist - PV-Power Plants (M/F/d)**
- Field: Renewable Energy
- Location: Munich, Germany - Remote work possible in Germany

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Site Assessment & Feasibility Studies**:Conduct geological and geotechnical surveys to assess the suitability of land for solar PV installations, focusing on soil composition, stability, bedrock conditions, hydrology, and seismic risk.
- **Geological Mapping & Analysis**:Create detailed topographical and geological maps to identify potential risks, such as landslides, erosion, and water table levels, and provide solutions to mitigate these risks.
- **Environmental & Regulatory Compliance**:Ensure all projects adhere to environmental regulations and compliance standards by assessing the ecological impact of solar PV installations and prepare reports for permits and approvals.
- **Hydrology & Drainage Assessment**:Analyze water flow patterns, drainage, and potential flooding risks, recommending appropriate land grading and drainage designs to prevent damage to the solar PV systems.
- **Soil Analysis & Subsurface Investigation**:Conduct soil sampling and laboratory testing (e.g., soil resistivity, shear strength) to determine the most suitable foundation designs for solar panels and mounting systems.
- **Risk Management & Mitigation**:Identify potential geological hazards, such as earthquakes, fault lines, or subsidence, and propose strategies to mitigate their impact on solar PV infrastructure.
- **Collaboration with Engineering Teams**:Work closely with civil, structural, and electrical engineers to optimize site layout, foundation design, and material selection based on geological findings.
- **Groundwater Studies**:Evaluate groundwater levels and quality, ensuring that solar PV installations will not negatively impact or be affected by local water resources.
- **Data Management & Reporting**:Use geospatial tools (GIS) to organize and analyze geological data, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to stakeholders, including engineers, environmental specialists, and project managers.

**Required Qualifications**:

- **Education**:Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- **Experience**: 3-5 years of experience in geological assessments, preferably in the renewable energy or construction sectors.
- Prior experience with large-scale solar PV projects is highly advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using GIS (Geographic Information System) tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS for geological mapping and spatial analysis.
- Expertise in geotechnical software (e.g., gINT, GeoStudio) to model soil and rock behaviour.
- Competence with field surveying equipment (e.g., GPS, ground-penetrating radar) for onsite geological assessments.
- Experience with soil sampling and testing tools such as augers, penetrometers, and resistivity meters.
- Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis skills to interpret soil, rock, and hydrological data.
- Ability to assess geological risks and provide practical solutions for safe and efficient solar PV installations.
