Senior Director Global Privacy

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
- The Senior Director Global Privacy is tasked with leading and coordinating all data privacy related activities within adidas. The incumbent creates, reviews and, to the extent needed, adjusts the Global Privacy Framework standards, procedures and other elements within adidas world-wide. They are also tasked with the role of the Data Protection Officer of adidas AG (and potentially equivalent roles in other countries) as well as the Global Privacy Officer of adidas group and in that capacity to globally rollout the Global Privacy Framework and to oversee its permanent implementation. They provide strategic leadership and direction with regard to prioritization, risk tolerance and collaboration across departments, functions and markets.- Key Responsibilities:
- Data Protection Impact Assessments: Verify proposed risk ratings within Data Protection Impact Assessments. Enable constant improvement of the Data Protection Impact Assessment and risk calculation framework. Seek efficient and standardized execution of the assessments.
- Personal Data Breaches: Lead and execute the personal data breach notification process for high risk personal data braches, and interface with the crisis management protocol as appropriate. Ensure proper documentation.
- Individual Complaints: Verify and assess the privacy impact of complaints submitted by a data protection authority, draft response letters. Ensure proper documentation. Coordinate potential remedies.
- Privacy Trainings: Establish the privacy training component of the Global Privacy Framework. Provide training and awareness activities for executive and board level audiences.
- Privacy Projects: Determine projects necessary to create, implement, maintain, and enhance the Global Privacy Framework. Ensure the necessary project management and coordination capabilities are in place.
- Legislative Developments: Follow and stay on top of legislative developments in key markets. To the extent necessary, take the necessary steps to ensure compliance with applicable data privacy laws.

- Perfect oral and written communication skills including communication at Executive / Supervisory Board level and communication with data privacy authorities
- Ability to communicate complex legal and technical topics in an easy to understand manner
- Convert the strategic importance of Digital and eCom into department priorities
- Provide guidance for prioritization and risk based, business minded and practical legal advice
- Integrity- Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- 12+ years related working experience
- 5+ years people management experience
- Previous experience as DPO in Germany
- Previous experience in regulatory and legislative environments
- Working and leadership experience in multi-national environments
- Fully qualified lawyer (master degree in law or equivalent & eligible for bar admission) / alternatively master degree or equivalent in a relevant area together with proven ability to effectively manage legal privacy issues
