**YOUR ROLE**
- As the leaders of Engineering Managers leading multiple cross-functional engineering teams and Staff Engineers driving the technology vision, the Directors of Engineering are responsible for the growth and development of the leaders in their team and the people in the organization.
- They successfully drive the execution of products, projects as well as infrastructure work, and actively engage to deliver business outcomes for our customers. They develop and empower engineers within their team by encouraging trust, accountability, and compassion through their leadership team and promoting clarity through excellent communication. Directors drive the organizational alignment of your department, communicate effectively, and act based on feedback.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO HERE**:

Typical day-to-day tasks for an Engineering Director might include**:

- Guide and engage the team with servant leadership to find the best ways to achieve desired results and impact together.
- Support and develop the team members by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.
- Propose and drive processes to facilitate and promote communication, transparency, and trust.
- Support the growth of the technical engineering team and foster an agile engineering culture.
- Support peers and stakeholders to design, develop and integrate complex cloud-based solutions and data-driven systems.
- Work together with peers to improve communication channels and ensure alignment between teams.
- Report and work together with the SVP of Engineering to create and drive initiatives to improve the business and teams within engineering, across the delivery organization, and beyond.
- Work together with the CTO to create and drive initiatives for technical excellence, alignment, and scalability and execute against the technical strategy.

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:

- A minimum of 3 years experience leading multiple multidisciplinary technical teams, in a prior Director of Engineering role
- Proven experience of a minimum of 5 years in software development and/or technical leadership
- You are an excellent communicator
- You enjoy developing and improving the status quo and creating processes used by hundreds of employees
- Experience with at least one programming paradigm e.g., OOP, functional, etc.
- Experience in Software Design, Development, and Architecture
- Experience with agile development lifecycles and methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and tools (Jira, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
- A team player with the ability to work in complex cross-functional teams
- A clear all-hands-on-deck mentality to drive what needs to be done irrespective of the area of responsibility

**NICE TO HAVE**:

- Experience with IoT platforms and services (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Experience in hardware or manufacturing environments
- Experience interacting with external customers and clients
