Our team is developing the next-generation pilot battery cell based on Li-ion technology. Both the mechanical components and the chemical components of the cell are selected and designed to achieve optimal overall performance. The battery cell developed in this way will then be manufactured in large quantities by our process partners in the new pilot plant.

What awaits you?
- You are responsible for the technical project management of the first cylindrical battery cell developed in-house at BMW.
- You work closely with the overall project manager and cell architect on the design and realization of the cell and are the main point of contact for our internal process partners from the manufacturing sector at the BCCC (Battery Cell Competence Center) site in Munich and the future pilot line (CMCC, Cell Manufacturing Competence Center) in Parsdorf. Here, you will closely monitor the production campaigns of the cell development project on site.
- You actively drive process improvements and the progress of the project together with the development team and our process partners.
- You coordinate the work of the electrode, assembly and formation sub-project managers and lead corresponding regular project meetings. Together with the overall project manager, you control the functional properties, costs, weight, quality and timeline in accordance with specifications requirements.
- You will also present interim results of manufacturing campaigns, escalation issues and the project status to higher-level committees.
- In-depth training on the job by our project team is ensured.

What should you bring along?
- Degree in chemistry, physics, materials science, electrical or mechanical engineering or in a comparable course of study.
- In-depth knowledge of the function, development and production of battery cells.
- At least three years of professional experience in this work context.
- Project management experience.
- Knowledge of development procedures from the automotive area is an advantage.
- Experience in the professional management of development teams is desirable.
- Independent, proactive and structured way of working.
- Team and communication skills.
- Very good English and German language skills.
