The Collaborative Research Center TRR 241 “Immune-Epithelial Communication in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases” is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and represents a comprehensive framework which aims to study the cross-talk between intestinal epithelial cells and immune cells in order to understand the mechanisms underlying IBD pathogenesis and develop new therapeutic targets. We offer the opportunity to be integrated into a dynamic research network and to perform research under the supervision of leading scientists in the field.
Die Aufgaben
In the frame of the Collaborative Research Center TRR 241 “Immune-Epithelial Communication in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases”, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) we offer a PhD Position in our young and dynamic research team.
In the context of inflammatory bowel diseases, the here announced research project aims on describing the relevance of the mevalonate pathway for epithelial homeostasis in the intestinal tract as a potential basis for the identification of new diagnostic markers or therapeutic target structures.

Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Life Science
Excellent academic performance
Enthusiasm for experimental work and for further developing experimental techniques; high level of motivation, ambition and scientific interest
Practical and theoretic experience in the field of molecular biology, immunology, and/or cell biology
Very good language skills in English

Already experienced in the field of epithelial cell biology or mucosal inflammation
Familiar with experimental in vivo models
