Site Technician (M/F/d) - UK/Shetland

Our international and agile team is searching for a motivated person to support in the position as a Site Technician (f/m/d) in the UK. This is a rare opportunity to be involved in building the capability to launch satellites into orbit form the UK. You will be involved in the installation, commissioning and operation of systems at our Launch site on the Shetland Islands, with the opportunity to travel to our other sites across Europe should the need arise. Your Tasks
- Assembly of complex rocketry machinery and test equipment
- Machining, tuning and fitting of specialized electro-mechanical systems
- (Hand-)welding (TIG) of specialty alloys (Inconel, Niobium, etc.)
- Accurately and qualitatively perform work in accordance with drawings, procedures, specifications, and test instructions
- Fabricate, repair and assemble required hardware/equipment
- Develop novel site methods to streamline processes and increase reliability of operations
- Prepare, set up, assemble, test, and integrate development and flight equipment, structures, and hardware
- Manpower requirements planning and selection of new employees
- Create or support in the creation of work instructions
- Responsibility for occupational safety in our production
- Close cooperation with management, weekly reporting

Your Qualificatons
- Completed trade in relevant engineering sector
- Mechanical aptitude for manual metal working machines and equipment
- Electrical aptitude and willingness to learn test procedures
- Experience with pressure systems is desirable
- Experience on UK construction sites and with relevant UK regulations is desirable
- Outstanding passion for engineering, as clearly demonstrated by the vast number of extracurricular projects and activities
- You are a quick learner and can adapt to new tools and environments
- Practical, hands-on experience from mechanical projects (through university, personal or other)
- Fluent English oral and written (all day-to-day activities are performed in English)
- Self-independent and a structured way of working
- High social intelligence and drive to jump-in and help wherever needed
