Scope of workfull-time position suitable for part-time**Responsibilities**:
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.
- Develop software implementing these Tensor Network algorithms on high-performance classical computers.
- Develop quantum software and classical simulators for quantum algorithms for computational fluid dynamics.
- Solve computational fluid dynamics problems, analyse the solutions and benchmark against existing data.
- Manage the research project on a day-to-day basis and regularly report progress to D. Jaksch.
- Write research papers for internationally refereed journals and presenting results at national and international conferences.
- Engage with theory and experimental colleagues with the aim to establish and maintain scientific collaborations.
- Contribute to the positive atmosphere, maintenance and smooth running of the research group, as required.
- Contribute to the intellectual life of the research group, including participating in video and teleconference meetings, and travelling for national and international workshops and meetings as required.
- Contribute to the writing of project reports and assisting with other administrative duties as required.

**Profile**:
A university degree in a relevant field.
- a doctoral degree, or being close to acquiring it, in a relevant scientific field
- excellent knowledge of quantum mechanics, quantum computing and tensor network theory. Familiarity with quantum computing platforms is an advantage
- expertise in numerical methods for the study of many-body quantum systems is desired
- proven track record of high-quality research in a relevant field and corresponding research publications in international journals
