**A Snapshot of Your Day**

Siemens Energy is seeking an experienced System Engineer to join our team of professionals working on the HVDC and FACTS Control Systems. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain these critical control systems through software development and testing. You as Model Based Development Expert will be responsible for developing and testing high-quality simulation models for HVDC/FACTS control systems.

**How You’ll Make an Impact**
- Develop and test high-quality simulation models for HVDC/FACTS control systems using Matlab and Simulink
- Design, implement, and test control algorithms for HVDC/FACTS control systems
- Develop and maintain software tools for the simulation and analysis of HVDC/FACTS control systems
- Ensure system functionality through rigorous testing and maintain best practices
- Control and protect HVDC and FACTS projects by using state-of-the-art software development
- Leverage cloud technologies for automated simulations and testing for effective project execution
- Define best practices for the simulation environment (Matlab/Simulink) for lean project execution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features and capabilities

**What You Bring**
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Many years of experience in software development and control systems
- Excellent knowledge of Matlab and Simulink
- Experience with Git or similar version control systems
- Familiarity with software development techniques, such as Agile methodologies
- Further you bring the following skills into the team:

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Self-organization and structure; you listen to expert opinions and your stakeholders before structuring the next tasks according to requirements
- Ability to learn and improve; you are willing to continuously learn and bring this knowledge as added value to the team and projects
- Very good English language skills, German language skills are of advantage
