Today, from small devices like smartwatches to satellites, a considerable amount of energy is dissipated as heat and lost. Thermoelectric materials offer the possibility of using part of that energy due to their ability to directly transform heat into electrical energy. Therefore, thermoelectric materials constitute a new way that can help solve existing energy and environmental problems. Si-Ge-Sn heterostructures growth is a challenge due to the low solubility of Sn, the low thermal stability of the allow, and the large lattice mismatch with Si. While the material has been already tested in optoelectronic devices, the field of thermoelectric remain almost unexplored. With very recent results indicating the applicability of SiGeSn heterostructures as thermoelectric materials, we invited you to be part of our research travel.

**Your Job**:
Your primary scientific tasks will be:

- Growth and characterization of SiGeSn heterostructures by CDV
- Cleanroom fabrication of thermoelectric devices
- Thermoelectric characterization of the obtained devices

**Your Profile**:

- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Material Sciences or similar fields
- Preference for experimental work, in the field of Material Science with background in solid state physics
- Enthusiasm and courage to explore uncharted territory, and enjoy research
- Ability to work as a part of a team
- Fluent in written and spoken English
