**Senior Insurance Claims Expert wanted for Global Reinsurer-Munich**

Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Senior Insurance Claims Expert to join our client, a Global Reinsurance Company, based in Munich. This role will report directly into the European Head of Claims and work closely with multiple stakeholders across Finance and Underwriting.

**Your Role**:

- Actively handle and drive solution-oriented activity on individual losses, loss complexes/events, and at a portfolio level.
- Provide coverage analysis, advice, and claims feedback to stakeholders, principally Client Management, Underwriting, and Finance teams.
- Support strategically supported business segments by guiding and supporting OEs with efficient technical advice and experience to ensure top tier claims service to clients.
- Proactively share information and manage expectations of all parties involved in the claims process.
- Manage project management tasks related to supporting strategic business initiatives and portfolio management operating metrics.
- Identify, prepare, and execute claims review targets on OE and external cedant accounts, focusing on knowledge sharing, relationship building, and building portfolio awareness to feed back into the Underwriting review process.
- Support change through collaboration to respond to fast-changing business requirements and strengthen collaboration across group entities.
- Assist with Group Retro Recoveries.

**Your Skills**:

- Law degree or similar professional background (insurance industry accreditation).
- 5-10 years of experience in claims management with a (re)insurance carrier.
- Fluency in English; good knowledge of German and additional languages is a plus.
- Good knowledge of (re)insurance principles, types of coverage, and program construction.
- Proficient in claims handling strategy including managing external service providers (engineers/adjusters/lawyers) and experience with litigation/mediation/alternative dispute resolution.
- Solid understanding of wordings, exclusions, and conditions.
- Familiarity with P&C lines of business; additional experience in speciality lines (e.g., Credit and Bond) is advantageous.
