Job Purpose

Supporting the School Director in operating the school with a view to optimizing enrollment, academics, and efficiency and establishing and maintaining the culture of high achievement and expectations in full alignment with the SABIS® Educational System and all local legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Contributing to building the culture of achievement at ISF including: High behavior expectations (developing a coherent, positive behavior reinforcement plan) and student and staff buy-in to academic excellence
- Championing accountability: Following up to ensure consistently high performance and fulfilment of high expectations as per job descriptions in all academic roles
- Ensuring full support and accurate implementation of SABIS® in the school
- Actively promoting SABIS® strengths and benefits
- Contributing to the School Director’s mentoring efforts for individuals in need of training, support, and guidance
- Contributing to all-school communication with staff, parents, and students
- Supervising AQCs and school academic leaders in managing and leading their departments
- Analyzing and following up on the effectiveness of academic support provided to struggling students
- Following up on performance improvement plans for struggling teachers
- Overseeing the development of necessary academic documentation across the school
- Overseeing examinations and exam procedures in the school
- Working with the School Director to build a positive relationship between the school and families
- Sharing with the School Director the responsibility for attending school events to ensure a consistent leadership presence
- Identifying teacher professional development topics and planning/implementing professional development days together with HR and the School Director
- Working with the Student Management Coordinator to develop and codify student policies and procedures and updating the Student Parent Handbook annually
- Overseeing the Summer School program
- Assuming responsibility for school operations in the absence of the School Director
- Monitoring and supervising wider school activities, including the activities calendar, SLO activities, Sports Academy activities, Parent Network activities, and trip planning.
- Partnering with the School Director in efforts to work with the Works Council
- Overseeing the school’s health, safety, and emergency drill program including annual risk assessments
- Ensuring consistency and fairness in the teacher substitution process
- Developing reports when needed, including but not limited to accreditation reports, management reports, etc.
- Chairing meetings and committees when needed
- Performing such other related tasks or projects as they arise and as delegated by the School Director or SABIS® Management

Ideal Requirements:

- Native speaker or native speaker fluency in English; knowledge of German is a plus
- Experience in a school leadership position
- Teaching experience in a school or university setting
- Experience teaching in the SABIS® Educational System
- Track record of support for the SABIS® Educational System
- Knowledge of external examination programs, including IGCSE, AP®, and IB
