In a BMBF-funded research project - ReLaKIKat - ammonia oxidation on catalytic gauze stacks will be the reaction on focus. We are looking for a postdoc (M/F/d) with above-average experience in heterogeneous catalysis and preferably with knowledge in design, construction and operation of experimental reactors and in-situ characterization of heterogeneous catalysts.
YOUR TASKS
- Development of an experimental apparatus for the investigation of corrosion processes on catalytic gauze stacks in ammonia oxidation
- Experimental investigation of catalyst stacks under industrial reaction conditions combining in-situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray absorption (XAS) and spatially resolved concentration and temperature profile measurements
- Collaboration with our industrial and scientific cooperation partners, visits to national and international research institutes for experimental campaigns and academic exchange
- Preparation of project proposals, publication of your research results in peer-reviewed journals and presentation at international conferences.
YOUR PROFILE
- Completed doctorate, particularly in the fields of chemistry, physics, chemical engineering or process engineering
- Very good scientific communication and publication skills.
- High interest in scientific questions and the motivation to work independently and goal-oriented in the field of basic research
- Willingness to participate in university teaching
- Comprehensive knowledge in the field of heterogeneous catalysis and practical laboratory experience with catalytic fixed bed reactors, as well as online gas analysis (GC, FTIR, MS)
- Practical experience in the field of X-ray spectroscopic methods (XRD, XAS) are desired
- Experience in the design and construction of experimental equipment is an advantage
- Ability to work in a team, cooperative nature, high flexibility, commitment and resilience, as well as independent and autonomous action are desired. This is key to carry out measurement campaigns at large-scale research equipment (e.g. DESY, Soleil, Diamond) and the cooperation in the project consortium of various research institutions and the chemical industry.
