The Institute for Experimental Cardiology studies the molecular basis of different forms of cardiac diseases and develops novel therapeutic approaches. **Your Responsibilities**:***
- Perform small animal surgery procedures (e.g. aortic banding, implantation of osmotic minipumps) in accordance with established protocols
- Perform cardiovascular phenotyping of small animal models (e.g. echocardiography, pressure-volume loop measurements)
- Manage and coordinate breeding programs and mouse colonies for genetic mouse lines using TierBase database
- Plan, organize and coordinate all procedures in communication with the small animal core and the involved scientists
- Maintain standardized accurate records of experiments and results
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulations related to animal welfare
**Your Profile**:***
- Completed training as biological-technical assistant or comparable
- Experience in small animal work in a laboratory setting, in particular small animal surgeries, and knowledge of animal welfare standards and animal care requirements
- Familiarity with breeding protocols and genetic mouse lines
- High level of commitment, flexibility and strong sense of responsibility
- Pleasure in working with a diverse team in a collaborative research environment
- Strong organizational, time-management and communication skills
- Fluency in German and English
