**Duties**:
- Serves as the Area Processing Center (APC) or Local Processing Center (LPC) systems technician and advisor on matters pertaining to data processing networking and communications initiatives and all associated technical issues.
- Systems and Server Operation: Provides technical support for the day-to-day operations of the local APC or LPC servers and all related computer systems and hardware.
- Planning and Systems Configuration: Performs systems and server administration functions.
- Defines and establishes general network and communications planning objectives and assists in defining overall basic and contingent automation communication needs for the supported community.
- Evaluates new or changed software to determine how it would support current and planned networking and communications systems and projects, considering problems of compatibility, processing ease and speed, known technological trends and developments.

- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance eligibility with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- The IT classification for this position is IT 2. Position is designated as Special Sensitive.
- Must successfully pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a USAREUR Driver's license.
- TDY 10%. This position may require the employee to occasionally travel from the normal duty location.
- The incumbent may be on an "on-call" status.
- Current DoD Employees: If a current permanent CES employee, you shall be granted administrative return rights. If not a current permanent CES employee, you may be granted administrative return rights if agreed to by your CONUS organization.
- In accordance with DoD CES Personnel System Implementation Guidance for Overseas Rotations and Administrative Return Rights, employees must be able to satisfy the rotation requirement and tour limitations in DoD Instruction 1400.25 Volume 1230.

The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
