**Become part of TUM's new professorship of Mobility Policy at the TUM School of Social Sciences and Technologies. The offered position is funded by the DFG and is part of the Emmy-Noether-Group "READAPT". It is a 100% position according to TV-L E13.**

**About us**: The professorship for Mobility Policy at TUM was newly created in October 2023. The core tasks of the professorship are the analysis, evaluation, and optimization of mobility innovations and mobility interventions as well as transport policy instruments using surveys, modeling, and simulations. An Emmy-Noether-junior-research group funded by the DFG was recently successfully acquired. The junior research group "READAPT" will develop methods to understand how the transportation system can be made more resilient in a future with substantial uncertainty.
**The position**:

- You become part of the READAPT junior research group and will be responsible for understanding, modeling, and predicting how human travel behavior is affected by different future scenarios, e.g., population growth, economic development, vehicle automation.
- You perform a large-scale survey (N > 1000) in the Munich metropolitan area that includes stated-choice experiments on mode choice, activity choice, etc.
- You analyze your collected data using statistical programming, e.g., choice modeling, to make the choices predictable for mobility simulations.
- You contribute to activities at the professorship, e.g., supporting teaching, supervising student theses,

**Your profile**:

- Good language skills in German and English
- Successful completion of a Master's degree in a field with a data or quantitative focus (e.g., economics, psychology, transportation and spatial planning, business administration, political sciences)
- Knowledge of statistical modeling and data analysis, e.g., R, Python, Stata
- Prior experience in conducting surveys (e.g., with discrete choice experiments) and evaluation (e.g., choice modeling) is desirable but not mandatory
- Willingness to actively participate in the development of the professorship and to contribute to the establishment of the professorship at the TUM in research and teaching
