Molecular Business Unit Director

We are looking for Molecular Business Unit Director, preferably located in Konstanz, Germany. A hybrid model is possible, so you could also be based elsewhere in Germany or Europe, but spending time on the Konstanz site is essential.

The Business Unit Director is expected to lead and act according to the principles, values, culture and way of working established in the Medix Biochemica Group.

**Key task and responsibilities**:
As Geschäftsführer and BU Director, you will devise and own the business roadmap, including R&D, Operations, Business Development and logistics for the BU. You will work with Medix Biochemica partners in a matrix model covering HR, Finance and Sales
- Build a 5-year business plan to develop a molecular diagnostic reagents portfolio, initial focus is to differentiate and expand the current portfolio and build a sales funnel. Identify resources and investments needed to scale the business.
- Lead Business Development and R&D resources to develop innovative solutions based on customer feedback and need. Analyze and develop business cases for various new product pipeline options.
- Lead Operations, Manufacturing and R&D teams to support and enable the 5-year plan.
- Prepare monthly reports & identify any deviations to schedule and/or budget, impact on forecast and corrective actions needed
- Along with dedicated Product Managers and Business Development, define positioning for all products in the portfolio and identify customer potential. Together with Product Management, develop launch materials and training plans to support commercial efforts to drive growth
- Together with Commercial sales leaders for the regions, agree target customers most relevant to the portfolio and regularly review and support sales performance
- Identify KOLs and partners who can help develop and drive the emerging business’ commercial success globally
- Develop functional expertise and skills in the Business Unit to develop talent within the company. Conduct performance and development reviews with individual team members to ensure talent development and retention.
- Lead by example and uphold the principles and values of Medix Biochemica
- As Geschäftsführer, ensure compliance will all external regulations and laws specific to the business
- Monitor and adhere to all Employee, Health & Safety and Environmental policies of Medix Biochemica
- Uphold the Vision and Values consistent with a leadership role in Medix Biochemica
- Fulfil reporting duties consistent with QMS & ISO certification of Medix Biochemica

**Your experience and skills**:

- Direct experience and success with scaling a business and developing an emerging portfolio
- M.Sc., or Ph.D. degree level education relative to Life Sciences / IVD
- Experience in working in a global, matrixed organization in the IVD or Life Science industry
- Experience in working under standardized Quality Management System, such as ISO 13485
- Ability to work as part of an international team and think cross-functionally across different departments and geographies
- Ability to develop KOL networks which support and can help articulate the value proposition of the portfolio
- Capacity to think strategically and proactively, drive performance and act decisively.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Command of English language.
