As a Payroll Specialist at Lightspeed, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees in **Germany**. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, a strong understanding of German payroll regulations, and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Accurately process monthly payroll for employees in Germany, ensuring all financial transactions are handled correctly.
- Managing different types of payroll variables (insurance, transport reimbursement, withholding tax, Stock Options, RSU, Bonus, On-call, overtime, exceptional bonuses, time
off, and others)
- Ensure the relationship with Addison (outsourced payroll providers in Germany), with a focus on the accuracy and timely receipt of payroll reports.
- Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records, including employee data, deductions, and
tax information.
- Management of sick leave, maternity and paternity leave (registration, monitoring of subrogation periods.
- Coordinate payroll approvals & funding instructions with the Finance team.
- Reply to tax notices, wage orders, unemployment claims, government correspondences, and verification of employment for international entities.
- Address and resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies promptly, providing excellent customer service to employees with payroll inquiries.
- Coordinate and execute year-end payroll activities, such as preparing and distributing annual tax documents.
- Participate in Internal & External Audits.
- Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations, journal, accrual reports and summaries to relevant departments as needed.
- Support the Finance teams with month-end close and reporting activities.
- Stay up-to-date with local and national payroll regulations in Germany, ensuring that payroll processes comply with legal requirements and company policies.

**Experience required**:

- Degree in Administration, Accounting, HR or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in Payroll & or Accounting.
- Strong knowledge of German payroll laws, regulations, and tax codes; Stay up-to-date with local and national payroll regulations in Germany, ensuring that payroll processes comply with legal requirements and company policies.
- Experience with Addison payroll software and Workday is an asset.
- Experience managing internal and external stakeholders such as other HR functions, employees, and local payroll providers.
- Excellent communication skills in **German and English**. Knowing the Dutch language is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively as an individual and as a team member.
- Ability to take ownership of payroll processes.
- Problem solving mindset & positive attitude.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask.
- Strong sense of confidentiality.
