Creating knowledge since 1502: the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg offers a wide range of

following the merger of the University of Wittenberg (1502) and the Friedrichs University Halle (1694), it is

the oldest and largest university in Saxony-Anhalt. Today, it has 340 professors and 20,000 students and its

research activities are focussed on the nano and life sciences, society and culture._ _

At the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, Faculty of Natural Sciences II, Institute of Physics, is

seeking, at the earliest possible date, to fill the three-year fixed-term position of a

Research Assistant (post-doc)

in full time.

The salary will be up to Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L, if the personal requirements and tasks are fulfilled.

Project tasks:

- medical imaging, such as photoacoustic tomography, and ultrasound metrology
- Scientific communication (journal publications, conference presentations)
- Supervision of final year bachelor and master projects
- Contribution to teaching in the medical physics or physics degree courses

Qualifications / requirements:

- Completed doctoral degree in physics, biophysics, medical physics, optical engineering, or a relevant engi
- neering discipline
- Knowledge and experience in all or some of the following areas: optics, optoelectronics, programming, nu
- merical modelling, instrumentation control (Labview), signal and image processing
- Very good spoken and written English
- High motivation, ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team, very good organisational

and communication skills.
