The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With more than 3,000 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.

**Job description**:
**Requirements**:

- Highly motivated and ambitious senior scientist with a university degree in veterinary medicine or similar, a PhD and more than 5 years of postdoctoral experience in an international environment
- Strong familiarity with and experience in navigating the animal licensing process in Germany as project head or deputy head
- Several years of experience with a diversity of experimental systems in cancer biology, including work with chemical carcinogenesis, genetically engineered mouse models, and xenotransplantations
- Proven strong interest in developing animal protocols and new in vivo models
- Prior experience in negotiating and managing collaborative studies in an diverse and international setting
- Experience in team leadership and supervision, including technicians and graduate students
- Structured, precise and independent working attitude, an analytical way of thinking and good problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral skills in English are expected, German language skills are desired
