We’re uniting over 6,500 global experts to build a scalable technology stack, including a software platform, unified electronic architecture and reliable connection to the automotive cloud. Our CARIDIANS are developing vehicle functions such as driver assistance systems, a next-generation infotainment platform, power electronics and charging technology, and digital services in and around the vehicle.

Our software can already be found in Volkswagen ID. models and will soon power Audi and Porsche vehicles with the E3 1.2 platform in 2024.

**YOUR TEAM**:
You will operate within the business unit “Infotainment Platform Development”. At CARIAD, we are developing the high-performance computing platforms for the domain intelligent cockpit / infotainment for the entire Volkswagen Group.
Aspects like modern SW platforms and runtime environments from realtime systems to Multiprocessor Android/Linux-based platforms, from lower-level Software topics to cross-functional system functions are our daily business. We are in very close cooperation with the brands, e.g. from Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen and work on the very latest versions of the development cars.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:

- Responsible for System Functions (e.g. Diagnosis, Software Update, Logging & Tracing, Persistency) within the Infotainment Platform Development
- Disciplinary leadership and ensuring employee development, derive department activities and align them with primarily CARIAD’s strategy
- Responsible for the qualitative assessment, selection and qualification of strategic external partners in the fields of competence of the competence center
- Management of coordination with the group brands and development locations on roadmaps and job splits
- Escalation in the event of target deviations of platform products within your responsibility area
- Serve as leader, mentor and developer of a team of experts
- Responsible for budget and resource planning

**WHO YOU ARE**:

- Previous experience in leading large teams and departments in the areas of software development and/or communication in the automotive industry (coaching & mentoring, career progression, performance appraisals, disciplinary action, etc.)
- Proven expertise in bringing complex software-based projects to life on a system & product level
- Ability to lead people and software development teams to high performance
- Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior executives through experience
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build productive relationships and work well with people at all levels of an organization
- High level of communication skills in German and English
