We are seeking an experienced treaty underwriter with portfolio underwriting experience ideally in Cyber or alternatively in Casualty or Property with a motivation to pivot into the cyber insurance line of business. In this role, you will sit within the Cyber team in Munich being part of a broader Asia Pacific and Africa (APA) team, working closely with our cyber underwriters as well as clients within the region to shape and influence the future direction of Cyber, and continue to position Munich Re as the go-to market for our treaty client’s reinsurance needs.

The APA cyber team is responsible for the development of Cyber insurance business (commercial and personal lines) within the region, contributing to the global Munich Re Cyber Ambition. As a global and regional market leader, we are well positioned to offer best in class services in our region. We implement those services in close collaboration with our clients and external partners in co-creation projects in combination with tailored reinsurance solutions.

You will be joining a dynamic team of experienced cyber underwriters, risk experts and cyber service consultants with a diverse background of expertise and knowledge, all of whom are keen to grow the portfolio in a sustainable manner, whilst delivering the best solutions possible to our clients.

**Your Job**
- To act as pricing lead for the emerging regions focusing on the Middle East, Africa and India in close collaboration with the respective APA underwriters, your APAC counterpart in Singapore, CU Cyber and other Cyber stakeholders in the group. Concretely:

- Guide and support underwriters on large accounts and complex structures (single risk and treaty), including risk analysis, exposure management, pricing, accumulation control and respective referrals (e.g. GURC) consistent with Munich Re’s guidelines and risk appetite
- Establish consistent performance steering for Munich Re & customer portfolios, incl. market quotations where possible or consistent pricing approaches in the various markets, benchmarking processes for our products and where necessary set best practices for the team in line with the global cyber guidelines
- Build know-how and further develop expertise on cyber pricing and accumulation topics (outside-in and augmented models, scenario and exposure approached, PML consulting, external vendors, etc.) including capacity control and monitoring for all emerging markets
- Train underwriters locally and in the broader APA Cyber community on pricing and accumulation topics and tool handling where needed
- Support management on annual planning, market strategies, coverage and industry analysis as well as driving the execution of that within the allocated region(s)
- Develop into a market expert / thought leader around Cyber modelling representing Munich Re on conferences and on stage including a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cross-functionally with a diverse group or stakeholders

**Your Profile**
- University degree, preferably in Mathematics or Statistics, or with recognized governing bodies of insurance qualification
- Experience in P&C portfolio underwriting (essential) and/or Cyber underwriting (Portfolio and/or Single Risk) with minimum 5 - 10 years experience in (re)insurance combined
- Experience in mentoring and guiding others in the cascading of pricing/ actuarial methodologies, and the willingness to continue to mentor others
- Experience in stakeholder management in a matrix system
- Strong analytical skill set
- Possess an ability to generate ideas for improvement, takes advantage of opportunities, suggests innovations, self-awareness and readiness to learn
- Displays energy and enthusiasm in approaching the role & maintains high level of productivity and self-direction
- Strong team player with own initiative combined with a willingness to assume responsibility
- Willingness to travel
- Excellent spoken and written business English, German is an advantage
