The** Institute of Pathology **is seeking a
**Scientist (f/m/d) in Applied AI in Digital Pathology**:
The fulltime position (38,5 h/week) starts as soon as possible, initially limited till 31.07.2025.
Our group has a long standing focus on the development of novel approaches for augmented pathology diagnostics using digital pathology, advanced image analysis and deep learning, as well as the innovative method of next generation morphometry and pathomics. We are looking for a scientist on a long-term basis, supporting and further developing these areas, and their integration with other medical data. The focus on the development of sustainable AI (or green AI) as well as secure and explainable AI are other major focuses of our group.
**Tasks**: -Image processing of biomedical image data
-Optimisation of models and analyses for sustainability and safety
-Supporting the group (particularly PhD students) with focus on technical issues and AI development
-Coordination of the administration of the hardware infrastructure
-Coordination of the set-up and development of the data management system
-Statistical analysis, presentation, visualisation and interpretation of results
**Profile**
- University degree with doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in computer science, bioinformatics, statistics, physics, mathematics or similar
- Desirable skills:
- Experience in staff management and coordination
- Experience with high performance computing
- Advanced programming skills
- Experience with statistical analysis
- Experience in collaborations with scientists from different scientific/medical/technical disciplines
- High willingness for teamwork and the ability to work independently
- Good knowledge of the English and German language (Level C2)
- High motivation
