**Duties**:

- Communicate and work closely with customers, multi-theater SATCOM facilities, Satellite Network Controllers, and Command staff personnel ensuring optimum system performance and on matters of system event scheduling.
- Perform maintenance, provides technical direction, and performs Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) involving highly complex and technical issues, and personnel located in different functional areas and organizations at various echelons.
- Engineer site unique drawings for use in troubleshooting and operations.
- Plan and coordinate with Chief of Operations on the use of communications equipment, and provides hands on training and evaluations.
- Provide positive control of repair parts and access to repair parts for maintenance activities.

- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET clearance based on a Tier 5 background investigation with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Lifting up to 30 pounds is required.
- Position is designated as MISSION ESSENTIAL in order to perform essential duties defined as critical and essential regardless of weather conditions, emergency situations, or general dismissal.
- The employee is required to obtain a DoDD 8570 IAT level II certifications appropriate to assigned duties of the position.
- In support of the mission, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a NTV driver license for driving Government Owned Vehicles.
- Required to perform shift work on a rotational basis.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.**Specialized Experience**:One year of specialized experience which includes: operating and maintaining telecommunications equipment; diagnosing equipment and system malfunctions and executing necessary repairs, modifications, and/or enhancements; and assisting in developing policy, procedures or guidelines pertaining to telecommunication systems and programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-11).

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.- Due to COVID-19, the agency is currently in an expanded telework posture. If selected, you may be expected to temporarily telework, even if your home is located outside the local commuting area. Once employees are permitted to return to the office, you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within a designated time frame identified by the organization. At that time, you may be eligible to request to continue to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agency's telework policy._
