**Company Description**:

Today, we stand strong as Europe’s leading online pet platform, delivering moments of happiness to more than 9 million pet parents each year.We are looking for an exceptional **Professional Product Expert **who will be responsible for developing new products for zooplus' private labels. Being a part of a very strategic area of the business - the **Own Brands Food** team, you will be one of the main drivers of continuous expansions of our products, thus, setting zooplus apart from its competitors.

Are you ready for this challenge?

As a** Product Development** **Expert**, you will take care of:

- Assessing Nutritional, digestibility & palatability aspects of pet food ingredients
- Understanding the impact of ingredients on the organoleptic parameters of the product
- Analysis of top-selling products/flavors/trends
- Clear overview of Own brands Food and groups of brands, quality tiers, and types of food (up to Product Group 3 level)
- Review and approval of recipes, declarations, packaging & claims, especially with regard to the applicable feed law
- Supporting Quality statements & QA requests
- Supporting Customer Care requests
- Supporting the Innovation team
- Sampling of existing and new products
- Support of the Senior Product Development Expert

**Qualifications**:

- Ideally 5 years of relevant work experience in pet retail or product development for a pet food manufacturer.
- Must-have Food Technology / Nutrition / Life Sciences degree.
- Knows the relevant NPD processes
- Experience in the cooperation and management of external stakeholders
- Knowledge of the pet industry as well as animal nutrition according to common standards (FEDIAF, AAFCO)
- Good knowledge of feed regulations and their implications on marketing claims
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
