UN-Habitat leads the Global Water Operators’ Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA), which helps water and sanitation operators help one another. GWOPA is an international network created in 2009 to support operators through Water Operator Partnerships (WOPs) - not-for-profit peer support partnerships between water and sanitation operators to enhance their capacity and performance and provide better service to more people in support of the SDGs. The Government of Germany currently hosts the GWOPA Secretariat. The intern will be under the direct supervision of the UN-Habitat, Bonn, Germany ,Global Solutions Division / Urban Practices Branch / Urban Basic Services Section / Global Water Operators’ Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA), Administrative Assistant.

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Bonn, Germany, Global Solutions Division / Urban Practices Branch / Urban Basic Services Section / Global Water Operators’ Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA) Programme internship is for six (6) months.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, applicants may be requested to undertake the internship remotely in view of constraints regarding visa issuance, international travel and access to UN premises. Applicants must be willing and prepared to undertake the internship remotely for a part or the entirety of the internship. The work hours during the internship shall be determined based on individual discussion between the intern and the supervisor(s) taking into consideration the minimum requirements of the Organization and the time difference between the hosting office and the location of the intern.

The Internship is UNPAID and full-time.

Interns work five days per week under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

**Responsibilities**:
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background, the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period.

Under the overall guidance of the Officer in Charge of the UN-Habitat Global Water Operators’ Partnership Alliance (GWOPA) and the direct supervision of the Administrative Assistant, the intern will:

- Provide logístical and administrative support and perform any other functions and tasks required by the nature of the project's activities.
- Support in procedures for the recruitment and contract extensions of consultants, including but not only to preparation of Terms of Reference, assisting in the preparation of notes/reports, prepare written responses to queries concerning HR-related matters.
- Perform the full range of office management and administrative support functions; typically provide direct assistance to a senior officer or staff members, like filing process and expense reports.
- Set up and maintains reference files/records (electronic and paper). Research a range of HR-related issues and assist in preparing notes/reports.
- Assist in preparing the necessary documentation for distribution to various offices, departments, and overseas offices.
- Perform other duties within and outside the work unit related to staff assistance as requested, in line with the intern's experience.
- Support project work, including preparing and processing Agreements of Cooperation and payment requests.
- Prepare tips and materials for IT skills to brush up on the team members' PC knowledge.
- Support GWOPA's digital workplace improvements such as SharePoint, Teams, Online Induction manual, and SOPs. Allow people to access the right content quickly.
