Social work professionals are confronted with the consequences and effects of traumatic experiences
of people on a daily basis, for example in their work with refugees, with children and adolescents,
with people who have experienced violence or with people in precarious living situations. In social
work with these groups, field-specific knowledge and trauma-competent action knowledge are
necessary in order to meet the specific needs of the addressees.
The applicant is expected to have a sound knowledge of the current discourses of trauma education
in research and practice from the related disciplines of social work, in particular from a socio
- educational and psychodynamic perspective. In addition, we require knowledge and experience of
applied methods of action, such as trauma-sensitive counselling and group work in educational
assistance, as well as theory-practice transfer in the area of consequences of violence and
traumatization and their effects.
Research in the area of social interventions, such as trauma-sensitive approaches or gender-based
violence and interventions, and knowledge of developmental psychopathology are desirable.
Additional qualifications in group analysis or trauma pedagogy or demonstrated advanced training in
mentalization-based practices are desired as well as supervisory credentials or advanced training.
The job applicant is expected to teach in the department's courses of study according to his/her

Professional profile: Completed studies preferably in educational science or social work / social
pedagogy, knowledge in the field of trauma research is desirable. A qualified doctorate, preferably
related to the advertised teaching area, is a prerequisite. Evidence of at least 5 years of professional
practice, including 3 years outside of academia, or additional scholarly accomplishments related to
in third-party funding acquisition is desired.
The position is available for an unlimited period of time. Upon initial appointment to a professorship,
employment will initially be in a probationary civil service relationship or in a permanent
employment relationship with a three-year probationary period.
