Director Sustainability

**The position offers the opportunity for hybrid working, with office presence in Hanover and Berlin as required.**
**Fluent German and English language skills (written and spoken) are mandatory for this role.**

Within the Group Corporate, External Affairs & Sustainability function we are looking for a Director Sustainability & ESG. The role has high internal and external visibility with a reporting line to the respective Member of the Group Executive Committee (Group Director Corporate, External Affairs & Chief Sustainability Officer). Together with an international team of highly skilled professionals based throughout Europe you will be responsible for the roll out, implementation and execution of TUI Group´s Sustainability Agenda. You will align with the various parts of the business - from tour operators and airlines to cruises, hotels as well as the tours and activities segment - to drive the implementation of the agenda, to give advice and to drive progress.
ABOUT THE ROLE

Developing, implementing, and executing TUI´s sustainability agenda and being responsible for defined sustainability projects

Implementing and promoting targeted initiatives particularly in terms of technology, reduction of emissions and resources and social responsibility

Acting as the focal point on all sustainability related matters within the Group and representing TUI and its achievements in the field of sustainability at international conferences and events in TUI source markets and destinations

Establishing and maintaining sustainability partnerships with peers, and sustainability leaders and influencers as well as academia, experts and NGOs

Developing tools to capture performance improvement data and coordinating the group-wide definition, implementation and evaluation of reliable ESG reporting data (KPI, targets, etc.) and processes by cross-divisional and cross-departmental cooperation

Creating awareness and promoting engagement with communications highlighting success stories and case studies

Managing a diverse and international team of sustainability experts in all parts of the business with the availability to travel

Ensuring compliance and global implementation of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) within the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) in cooperation with Corporate Finance and auditors

Collaborating with the Finance, Compliance, HR and IR teams to ensure TUI is properly represented in the relevant ESG indices

Ensuring compliance of German legal sustainability requirements, ratings and certifications

Regular benchmarking with relevant peers and monitoring of developments (regulatory, market, clients, investors etc.)

Monitoring and coordination of regulatory developments and other requirements in close collaboration with Finance, Legal, HR and the TUI Corporate Offices in Berlin and Brussels
ABOUT YOU

Ideally hold a degree in Sustainability Management, Environmental and Resource Management, Engineering, Economics or related studies with a focus on Sustainability Management

Extensive experience in the areas of sustainability, ESG and CSR reporting

Fluency in German and English

Ability to tap into a strong network within sustainability, environmental and other related communities

Experience of working in a global company and the skills to demonstrate high intercultural competence as well as excellent know-how in multi-project management or program management is an advantage

You take responsibility, demonstrate high commitment and work efficiently within a team

A strong communicatior who can find innovative solutions by thinking creatively
