Student Assistant in diabetes healthcare study (f / m / d) Chair of Biological Imaging We now seek a highly qualified and motivated student assistant (f / m / d) to support a clinical study in the field of diabetes healthcare part-time (20 h / w). The Chair of Biological Imaging (CBI) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging (IBMI) at Helmholtz Munich are an integrated, multi-disciplinary research unit, which provide bioengineering solutions to urgent societal needs. CBI scientists develop next-generation imaging and sensing methods to measure previously inaccessible properties of living systems, hence, catalyzing breakthroughs in biology, medicine, and the environment. Comprising 12 interdisciplinary laboratories and scientists from more than 25 countries, CBI offers state-of-the-art infrastructure for innovative research and an ideal environment to accelerate your career. The Mission : The EU-funded project OPTOMICS seeks to revolutionize type 2 diabetes healthcare by combining molecular phenotyping, advanced optoacoustic imaging, and artificial intelligence-driven computational models. Its goal is to develop and validate a digital twin that enables earlier prediction, improved patient stratification, and better prevention of diabetes and its complications. The student assistant will : Recruit participants for the OPTOMICS study Review and collect participant consent forms Perform optoacoustic scanning and assist with blood and urine collection Enter questionnaires, laboratory data, and imaging data into the study database Communicate and coordinate with the on-site clinicians at the Diabetes Zentrum München Süd and the study coordinator at the TUM Chair of Biological Imaging Your profile : The successful applicant must have the following : Enrolled as a medical student (ideally in their 5th year of study) Certified training for the transport of hazardous materials Strong motivation, scientific curiosity, and commitment to scientific excellence Team player skills and enthusiasm to work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment.
