Key Responsibilities

  • Apply past expertise in experimental quantum technologies to operate ion-trap quantum computing hardware effectively.
  • Formulate quantum control protocols for ion manipulation and quantum gate operations.
  • Execute calibration, optimization, and characterization procedures on quantum computing hardware.
  • Develop theoretical models and simulations for comparing experimental data with predicted quantum behaviors.
  • Collaborate within a diverse team comprising Software Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Physicists, and Quantum Engineers.
  • Contribute to the conceptualization and development of new technologies for future products.


Requirements

Critical Qualifications for Evaluation

  • Proficiency in laser cooling and trapping of ions.
  • Experience in operating and calibrating optical, RF, and microwave control hardware.
  • Familiarity with precision-timed control systems and signal processing.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing quantum gates, algorithms, and simulations.
  • Ability to implement various quantum control protocols on hardware.
  • Proficiency in conducting simulations and modeling to guide experimental setups.


Essential Criteria

  • PhD qualification, preferably with postdoctoral experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience, inclusive of academic degrees, in calibrating, characterizing, and operating quantum technology experiments.
  • Over 5 years of experience, inclusive of academic degrees, in ion trapping, qubit characterization, quantum gate implementation, randomized benchmarking, and algorithm execution.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of published research in the field.
  • Strong organizational abilities, with experience in engaging with customers and partners.


Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with surface ion traps.
  • Knowledge of Ytterbium ion qubits.
  • Proficiency in Python programming language.
