M&A IT Consulting (Manager, Senior Manager, Director)

Location: Germany (Multiple Cities)


A major global consultancy has engaged Masentó Search to assist with the expansion of its M&A IT business in Germany.


There is a huge growth opportunity here, and my client is looking to bring in people at several levels, including Manager, Senior Manager, and Director.


This firm is renowned for its expertise in mergers and acquisitions, working with some of the biggest and most influential companies worldwide. The consultancy provides top-tier advisory services, helping clients navigate complex M&A activities with this team focusing on IT integrations, carve outs, and value creation.


Role Overview:

The M&A IT team play a crucial role in guiding high-profile clients through the IT aspects of their M&A activities, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence. Colleagues will collaborate with global teams and other business units, whilst managing multifaceted projects and providing deep insights to foster successful integration and value creation.


Manager Level

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead small to medium-sized M&A IT projects from initiation to completion.
  • Conduct IT due diligence to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and execute integration plans, covering IT infrastructure, systems, and applications.
  • Coordinate with client stakeholders to align IT integration with business objectives.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Assist in the development of client proposals and presentations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT consulting, with a focus on M&A.
  • Strong project management skills and experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in IT due diligence, integration planning, and execution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English and German.


Senior Manager Level

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee large and complex M&A IT projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Lead IT due diligence efforts, identifying key risks and synergies.
  • Design and implement comprehensive IT integration strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Mentor and develop junior consultants and managers.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including identifying new opportunities and leading proposal development.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to provide innovative solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in IT consulting, with significant experience in M&A.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale IT projects and teams.
  • Expertise in IT due diligence, integration, and transformation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills.
  • Fluent in English and German.


Director Level

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the M&A IT consulting practice, driving strategic growth and excellence.
  • Shape the vision and strategy for the practice, aligning with overall business goals.
  • Oversee a portfolio of high-impact M&A IT projects, ensuring exceptional delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain senior-level client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead and inspire a team of managers, senior managers, and consultants.
  • Drive business development initiatives, including market analysis, proposal development, and client pitches.
  • Represent the firm at industry events and conferences, enhancing brand reputation and thought leadership.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in IT consulting, with extensive experience in M&A.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and growing a consulting practice or business unit.
  • Deep expertise in IT due diligence, integration, and value creation.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and client relationship skills.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to drive revenue growth.
  • Fluent in English and German.
