Our client is a dynamic and rapidly expanding baby product business that thrives on innovation and customer-centric solutions. They are committed to providing high-quality products to families worldwide, and their dedication to excellence has propelled them to the forefront of the industry. As our client continues to grow, we are helping them to search for a talented Vice President of Logistics and Supply Chain to lead their manufacturing, shipping, and logistics operations, with a particular focus on retail, ecommerce and direct to consumer markets in the USA and Europe. Role is remote based in either USA or Germany.


Job Description

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute the overall logistics and supply chain strategy to support the company's growth objectives, with a focus on the USA and European markets.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align logistics initiatives with business goals and objectives.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize efficiency and reduce costs throughout the supply chain.

Manufacturing Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, ensuring timely production and delivery of high-quality baby products.
  • Work closely with manufacturing partners to maintain strong relationships and drive continuous improvement in processes and quality standards.
  • Monitor production schedules and capacity to meet demand forecasts and customer expectations.

Shipping and Distribution:

  • Lead shipping and distribution operations, including transportation, warehousing, and fulfillment activities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline the distribution network and improve order fulfillment speed and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with carriers and logistics partners to negotiate favorable terms and ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.

Inventory Management:

  • Optimize inventory levels to balance cost efficiency with product availability and customer demand.
  • Implement inventory management systems and processes to track inventory movements accurately and minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Analyze inventory data and trends to forecast demand and adjust procurement and production plans accordingly.

European Market Expansion:

  • Drive the expansion of our client's European presence by developing and executing logistics and supply chain strategies tailored to the region.
  • Navigate regulatory requirements and customs procedures to ensure compliance and seamless cross-border operations.
  • Establish partnerships with local logistics providers and distribution channels to enhance market penetration and customer service.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, with significant experience in retail, ecommerce or direct-to-consumer industries.
  • Proven track record of success in leading manufacturing, shipping, and logistics operations within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of USA and European logistics operations, including familiarity with customs regulations, import/export procedures, and distribution networks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and optimize supply chain processes.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-oriented mindset, capable of driving change and innovation to achieve business objectives.
