For our dynamic growing, innovative Brands division within an already established big generic International pharmaceutical company, we are looking for an experienced Medical Affairs field professional who dares to look outside the clear-cut frames of a common big pharma MSL job and who wants to operate in an entrepreneurial way. This job offers you the opportunity to develop in the broadest sense by being engaged in all aspects of the business and manage your own daily work. You will be responsible for the Medical Affairs Execution of the Medical projects in Germany but also provide strategic input to the Medical Affairs Manager to establish medical affairs field leadership. You will support the Sales and Marketing colleagues of which a demonstrable affinity with seeing commercial opportunities is required. The role involves 70% of the time spent in field activities throughout the assigned territory (North of Germany). You live in North of Germany and are able to speak English because of the communication with the European Management team, the European offices are in Amsterdam, Netherlands.



Major tasks & responsibilities


  • Responsible for field medical activities for current and new products on the Company pipeline
  • Develop peer-to-peer relationships with country KOLs and HCPs, as well as other influencers and leaders of the scientific and healthcare community, utilizing scientific and medical evidence-based information
  • Manage field based medical projects including advisory boards, medical education programs and clinical trials or early access programs
  • Support HCPs requests for medical information and hospital meeting requests acting as scientific subject matter expert in a timely, compliant and ethical manner
  • Execution Medical scientific projects like scientific publications and advisory boards
  • Support the development of Medical Affairs strategy for Germany, gaining scientific, clinical and business insights by attending relevant congresses and scientific events
  • Strategically prepare and support the development, launch of products through scientific exchange. Our first product is Odomzo (sonidegib) indicated for locally advanced basal cell carcinoma and another product is expected in melanoma.
  • Support the process to approval of investigator-initiated trials and monitor progression
  • Ensure the appropriate dissemination of clinical and scientific information regarding marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely, compliant and ethical manner
  • Develop links with KOLs and support national, regional and local networks in Derma-oncology as well as in future potential TAs
  • Communicate the latest emerging data to identified experts, response to unsolicited healthcare professional inquiries
  • Supporting colleagues in organizing HCP events by providing medical content to speakers.

  • Field presence to ensure high scientific quality interactions and to be considered a trusted scientific counterpart for experts in the Derma-oncology community
  • Awareness level of medical treatment with sonidegib among treating Derma-oncologists in country and among national Derma-oncologist KOL community
  • Strategic contribution to pre-launch and launch steps of new products providing scientific support at country level
  • National Peer-to-peer program planning and implementation
  • Setting up and successfully lead local external stakeholder engagement plan
  • Planning and implementing national symposia (stand alone or within relevant congresses): identify, support, educate speakers
  • Local medical publications
  • Scientific presentations in hospitals
  • Number of meetings within target


Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills


Education Qualifications (Graduate- Post Graduate)


  • Mandatory – (bio) medical (scientific) academic degree
  • Driver’s license



Work experience


  • Mandatory - Minimum of 2 years of MSL experience in the innovative pharmaceutical industry
  • Desirable - At least one-year experience in a commercial or marketing function within the innovative pharmaceutical industry
  • Mandatory - Fluent in English
