About my client:

This BU spearheads strategic initiatives, orchestrating major investments and change programs. They are on a journey from independent entities to a collaborative force, leveraging scale and expertise across their diverse portfolio. Operating globally, with a strong presence in Germany, Poland, and the UK, they thrive as a matrix-managed organisation.


Role Overview:

As an IT Solution Architect, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping solutions for major projects and programs, contributing to the transformation of their technology landscape. Be part of an Core Architecture team focused on efficiency, innovation, and cost reduction. Collaborate closely with 3 Enterprise Architects and 2 other Solutions Architects, and work on end-to-end solution implementation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the current landscape and dependencies for upcoming projects
  • Identify and communicate project dependencies, ensuring clarity among stakeholders
  • Develop solutions in collaboration with stakeholders to manage dependencies
  • Design target solutions aligned with business requirements and company principles
  • Engage with customer stakeholders to understand business outcomes and define success criteria
  • Lead discovery workshops to prioritise requirements and present design options
  • Ensure scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions
  • Provide scoping, sizing, and SOW support
  • Act as the solution owner, supporting business development
  • Optimise company principles and standards in collaboration with the internal architecture community


Qualifications:

  • Experience in Solution Architecture and software development
  • Technology Architecture qualifications: TOGAF or equivalent


Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Operate in both agile and waterfall delivery environments
  • Academic background in computer science or related discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities


Experience:

  • Fluent in business and financial implications of architecture choices
  • Multinational organisation experience
  • Strong experience in solution design and best practices
  • Ability to translate business requirements into functional design
  • Knowledge of integration technologies (e.g., ETL Tools) and complex data migrations
  • Broad understanding of architecture design patterns and concepts


Desirable:

  • Proficient in English (mandatory)
  • Language skills in German or Polish desirable
  • Business domain expertise in the Media services industry
  • Experience with S/4HANA roll-outs on a global scale
  • Being based in Hamburg (where their HQ is) is advantageous, so you can meet stakeholders easily.
