We are currently looking for aTechnical Director whose role will be to lead and manage the Show’sTechnical Departments. The Technical Director’s main goal is tomaintain safe and consistent show operations for all performancesand day-to-day operations of the show. Reporting directly to theCompany Manager and functionally to the Sr. Director of ProductionServices in Las Vegas, the Technical Director is responsible, inconjunction with the General Stage Manager, for the management ofdaily training and staging while supporting the Show Heads ofDepartments’ (“HODs”) normal tasks and needs, as well as nightlytechnical show call operations. The ideal candidate will be astrong leader with excellent communication skills who can build anddevelop the technical show teams.

TheTechnical Director will have the opportunityto:

  1. Manage all technicalactivities and operations on a day-to-day basis in coordinationwith the General Stage Manager and Venue Facility Engineering;including theatre auxiliary shops and off-sitespaces.
  2. Work with Senior Management on budgetplanning and execution. Working with Resident Shows Senior Directoron 5 year capital planning and laborbudgets.
  3. Manage the HODs to ensure consistencyof show call operations and quality, as defined by the Sr. Directorof Production Services – RSD.
  4. Oversee theAssistant Technical Director in all crew scheduling and technicaltraining requirements.
  5. Oversee on-goingrequired training for the technical department, as directed byCirque’s Talent, Health and Safetydepartments.
  6. Support Marketing and Publicrelations by managing and scheduling all technical requirements forspecial events or show appearances on and offsite.
  7. Support the Production Services teams inmaintaining documentation of all modifications made to the site andshow equipment, including all capitalimprovements.
  8. Oversee and participate in thepreventive maintenance and inspection program, as established bythe Production Department – RSD and ensure compliancy by show headsof departments.
  9. Collaborate with CompanyManagement to ensure nightly management coverage for performances,include managing schedule of Assistant TechnicalDirector.
  10. Coordinate and oversee crewoperations over all show specific darkperiods.
  11. Follow up on time keeping andreporting, including payroll verification for local crew, ifneeded.
  12. Follow up on scheduling buildingmaintenance follow-up on issues to be corrected by Venue FacilityEngineering.
  13. Support the hiring of thetechnical staff, in coordination with the Production ServicesDepartment and with union affiliates, asapplicable.
  14. Complete all other job-relatedduties as assigned.

Theideal candidate will have the followingqualifications:

  1. Fluent inGerman and English.
  2. At least ten years ofprevious experience in a technical management position onlarge-scale theatrical productions, touring or special events;previous Touring experience an asset.
  3. Provensuccess and demonstrated ability in projectmanagement.
  4. Working knowledge of Microsoftapplications for Windows; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Outlook, AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, MicrosoftTEAMS.
  5. Thorough knowledge of theatricaltechnologies.
  6. Ability to perform the essentialfunctions of the job including, but not limited to: crouching,kneeling, standing, lifting, sometimes for extended amounts oftime; lifting at least 50lbs unassisted, etc.; Full list ofessential functions will be sent in the offer.   7. ABühnenmeister certification is a considerableasset.
  8. A Beleuchtungsmeister certification isan asset.
  9. Verification of the right to work inGermany for Cirque du Soleil EntertainmentGroup.
