Sr. Manager of Materials Management


The role:

As the Senior Manager of Materials Management you will perform in a fast-paced start-up environment, you will be responsible for leading the materials supply chain. You will ensure efficient procurement and inventory control to support uninterrupted fab operations. Your expertise in managing the materials supply chain will ensure that we meet our production goals and deliver high-quality products on time. Join our team and help us build the next generation of innovative products.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage materials supply chain, ensuring timely delivery and optimal inventory levels.
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality standards.
  • Implement risk management framework for monitoring suppliers and mitigating potential supply chain disruptions.
  • Implement efficient inventory management systems to balance cost-efficiency with rapid availability of critical materials.
  • Collaborate with construction team to align material delivery schedules with construction milestones.
  • Control material costs, including procurement, storage, and waste management, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Qualify suppliers to meet quality, reliability, and compliance standards.
  • Continually assess and improve materials management processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align materials management with overall fab operations in a startup environment.


Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in supply chain management, like CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).


Must have experience:

  • Exposure and experience in large scale material management, preferably from semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing or international large-scale companies.
  • Proven track record of managing material requirements for large-scale construction projects with many stakeholders while transitioning to operational phase management.


Language skills:

  • Full professional proficiency in German and English is required.
  • Proficiency in other languages would be a plus to contribute into a global coordinations.


Professional Skills:

  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management abilities.
  • Effective communication and leadership qualities.
  • Adaptability to manage changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced SAP skills.
