Senior System Engineer

Our client are seeking a Senior System Engineer to take responsibility for leading the development, design and integration of complex systems within the space and defence domains.


Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation of design requirements and system architectures for space and defence applications.
  • Convert client needs into technological solutions while making sure that best practices and industry standards are followed.
  • Supervise the subsystems' integration into a cohesive and working system.
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams technically, overseeing the development process and making sure project deadlines are fulfilled.
  • Work together with project managers to specify the parameters, deliverables, and schedule of the project.
  • Encourage a culture of ongoing learning and innovation by mentoring and supporting junior engineers.
  • Create and carry out strategies for hardware and software integration as part of system integration.
  • Oversee system validation and verification processes to make sure systems fulfil all dependability and performance standards.
  • Perform risk analyses and create methods for mitigation to deal with possible issues.
  • Function as the principal technical liaison for clients, associates, and sponsors.
  • Provide top management and outside stakeholders with technical solutions and project updates.
  • Take part in design reviews, client requirements reviews, and other important project meetings.
  • Keep abreast of market developments and new technological advancements to spot chances for innovation.
  • Participate in the ongoing development of engineering techniques, instruments, and processes.
  • Encourage the creation of fresh skills and solutions in response to changing client demands.


Your Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a similar discipline, either bachelor's or master's.
  • 7+ years of systems engineering expertise, specialising in space and/or defence systems.
  • A track record of successfully overseeing challenging projects from inception to conclusion.
  • Prior experience integrating, validating, and testing systems in a controlled setting.
  • Solid grasp of the concepts of systems engineering, such as risk, design, and requirements management.
  • Expertise in using tools for system modelling and simulation, such as MATLAB, Simulink, and DOORS.
  • Knowledge of pertinent rules and guidelines from the space and defence industries, such as ECSS and MIL-STD.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, as well as the capacity to function well in a group setting.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a drive to overcome obstacles.
