Are you an IT professional passionate about human rights? We are a small but dedicated human rights charity seeking a skilled IT Systems and Security Specialist to join our team on a voluntary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your expertise to make a meaningful impact in supporting our operations and protecting our organisation from cyber threats.

 

About Us 

Just Access e.V. is committed to advocating for and protecting human rights globally. Our work involves sensitive information and critical communications, making us a target for cyber-attacks. We are seeking an IT Systems Specialist to assist with implementation and ongoing security measures, as well as efficient management of IT systems and resources.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of Staff Computers: Ensure efficient and secure operation of staff computers.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement security policies for volunteers' personal computers.
  • IT Systems Optimisation: Appraise and proactively suggest new IT resources and solutions.
  • Website Maintenance: Maintain and secure our website.
  • Data Safeguarding: Establish and manage technical systems to protect donor data and other sensitive information.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of cloud infrastructure.

 

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expertise in cybersecurity and threat mitigation.
  • Experience in IT systems management and maintenance.
  • Ability to develop and implement security policies.
  • Skills in website maintenance and security.
  • Knowledge of data protection laws and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
  • Experience in implementing backup and recovery solutions.
  • Skills in setting up continuous IT monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Coordination with security professionals to align security measures.
  • Strong communication skills in English and German.


Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with/interest in OSINT research methodologies is an advantage.
  • Experience with non-profit organisations is an advantage.
  • Project management skills.
  • Knowledge of cloud services.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions on cybersecurity.
  • Basic programming or scripting skills.
  • The following certifications (or equivalent) are an advantage: CISSP, CISA, CCSK, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer.
