Company Summary:

An exciting international E-commerce company are looking for someone to join As the Director of Customs and Foreign Trade reporting directly to the CFO. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and optimizing our global supply chain. You will play an integral role for managing all aspects of customs, import/export compliance, and foreign trade activities. This role offers the opportunity to drive strategic initiatives, streamline processes, and foster strong partnerships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.


The Customs and Foreign Trade Director will be responsible for:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export laws, and trade agreements.
  • Oversee the classification of goods, tariff determination, and valuation to minimize duty exposure and maximize efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on customs-related matters, including tariff classification, country of origin determination, and customs documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, and Regulatory Affairs, to drive process improvements and mitigate risks.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customs authorities, trade associations, and other external stakeholders, representing the company's interests and advocating for favorable trade policies.
  • Stay abreast of changes in trade regulations and proactively assess the impact on our business operations, providing timely guidance and recommendations to senior management.
  • Lead training initiatives to ensure that employees across the organization understand their responsibilities related to customs compliance and foreign trade.


The Customs and Foreign Trade Director should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Experience in customs compliance, import/export operations, and foreign trade management
  • Leadership Experience
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and customs compliance systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent English and German
