Project Context:

The Customer Experience (CX) Unit at DB Systel supports DB partners from various business units of Deutsche Bahn (e.g., Traveler Information SR Unit) in developing and maintaining digital products that enhance the complete travel experience. The CX Unit operates in a dynamic environment balancing customer needs and business requirements. The services provided involve advising on project management strategies and ensuring effective execution and delivery.


Services Required:

The service provider (contractor) is expected to provide the following services:

  • Project Documentation: Create and maintain project documentation, reports, and protocols.
  • Coordination: Manage interdisciplinary project teams and promote cooperation within agile environments.
  • Communication: Ensure transparent and effective communication within the project team and with external stakeholders.
  • Presentation: Conduct presentations on project status and other topics to steering committees and management.
  • Conflict Resolution: Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths; handle conflict resolution effectively.
  • Resource Management: Advise on resource management, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and risks.
  • Project Scope Management: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with business goals.
  • Agile Methods: Moderate agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.


Project Details:

  • Location: Frankfurt am Main, Germany
  • Service Provision: Onshore from Germany; services outside Germany or the EU require client approval.
  • Duration: January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2029
  • Planned Volumes: 220 Person Days (PT) per year
  • Onsite Work: Minimal on-site work (22 PT/year planned)


Technical Requirements:

Mandatory Criteria:

Project Management Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in managing complex IT applications, both in V-Model and agile environments.
  • Experience in managing on-premise and cloud IT applications.

Requirements Management & Risk Management:

  • 5 years of experience in requirements management, project planning, risk management, and stakeholder management.

Transition Management:

  • 3 years of experience with data center migrations and cloud computing (AWS or similar).

Industry Knowledge:

  • Proven reference from 1 project in rail transport industry, particularly in areas such as passenger information, timetabling, or railway operations.

Project Team Leadership:

  • 5 years of experience leading interdisciplinary project teams.

Certification:

  • Project Management Certification (minimum: GPM Level C, IPMA, or equivalent).

Language Skills:

  • German: Fluent (B2 or higher).

Target Criteria:

  1. Customer/Service Orientation:
  • 2 years of experience interacting with clients and stakeholders.
  1. Certification:
  • Additional project management certifications, beyond mandatory requirements, are valued.
