Chief Information Security Officer

As the CISO, you will be responsible forthe overall security posture of Groupon’s cloud ecosystem, ensuringcompliance, mitigating threats, and building a resilient securityinfrastructure. You will lead security efforts across theorganization, working closely with IT, InfoSec, and business teamsto drive strategic initiatives and ensure the safety of ouremployees, consumers, andmerchants.
KeyResponsibilitiesStrategicLeadership- Develop andexecute a comprehensive information securitystrategy aligned with Groupon’s business objectives andregulatory requirements (PCI, SOC 2, GDPR,etc.).
- Provide guidance on securesystem architecture, ensuring the adoption of tools and processesthat complement each other within the GCP cloudecosystem.
- Establishbenchmarks and implement security protocols to align withbusiness and regulatoryobjectives.
- Ensure compliance withindustry standards, including CICD practices,and promote the use of tools like SonarQube forsecurity checks.
- Manage networksegmentation by platform, product, or funnel to isolatepotential threats.
- Introduce andoversee threat monitoring systems targeting keyfraud areas:
- Consumer and Merchant accounttakeovers.
- Checkout vulnerabilities and ongoingthreatdetection.
- Proactivelyaddress vulnerabilities, ensuring the highest level of securityacross Groupon'sinfrastructure.
- Develop andown the Disaster Recovery Plan, ensuring it isregularly tested and updated.
- Create and managea robust Incident Response Plan, withcross-functional testing to ensure readiness for any securityevents.
- Collaboratewith IT and InfoSec teams to implement securitysupervision and operational processes.
- Leadcross-departmental initiatives to embed security into Groupon’sproduct lifecycle and businessprocesses.
- Build andlead a high-performing security team capable of meeting Groupon’sevolving security needs.
- Foster a culture ofsecurity awareness across the organisation, providing training andguidance to employees andstakeholders.
- 10+years of experience in Information Security, includingleadership roles.
- Expertise in regulatoryframeworks (PCI DSS, SOC 2, GDPR) and cloudsecurity, particularly inGCP.
- Demonstrated success inimplementing and managing threat monitoringsystems, disaster recovery, and incident responseplans.
- Proven ability to managenetwork segmentation and integrate securitymeasures into CICD processes using open-source tools likeSonarQube.
- Strong leadershipand communication skills, with experience leading securitystrategies at a senior level in a globalorganization.
- Deep understanding of fraudprevention and vulnerabilitymanagement.
