Senior Golang Engineer - Cloud Hosting - Database as a Service (DBaaS) - 85k - Berlin


The DBaaS team focuses on developing and maintaining database services for our customers, whether it’s relational databases like Postgres, document-based, key-value stores, time series databases or other NoSQL offerings. For our enterprise customers, the database is often the reliable center of their architecture, providing data persistence, consistency and structure - the solid rock on which to build their applications.


Our teams are responsible for the entire lifecycle of the service: we build it, we ship it, we run it. We are looking for someone to join our team and work with us on providing the best product possible.


Responsibilities:

  • Write code in Go and other languages
  • Creation of database services, mainly with: Postgres, Mongo, Maria & Redis.
  • Collaborate effectively within an agile team
  • Address intriguing problems in a dynamic cloud environment
  • Support the operations and management of distributed systems
  • Enhance build, test, and deployment automation
  • Improve the quality and resilience of services continuously


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in developing, testing, and deploying well-engineered code in Go
  • Active participation in design and architecture discussions
  • Familiarity with at least two database types such as relational, timeseries, key-value, full-text search, persistent message queues, or document-based databases
  • Understanding of the concepts and use-cases of other types of databases
  • Proficiency in working with cloud environments
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes container orchestration and Helm charts
  • Ability to build Kubernetes operators, controllers, and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs)
  • Expertise in operating and troubleshooting production environments
  • Knowledge of the Linux operating system
  • Understanding of network fundamentals
