We're looking for a motivatedand driven Senior Technical Manager(m/f/d) to lead critical technical initiatives,ensuring seamless connectivity and supporting innovativedevelopments within our network and hardware ecosystems on ourtrains. This role bridges the gap between software development,rolling stock engineering, and operational excellence to ultimatelyenhance customer experience.

Your Tasks – Paintthe world green
  • Serve as the primarytechnical point of contact for all WiFi, network, hardware andmobile device topics on board of our trains, ensuring efficient andreliable operations.
  • Monitor the performance ofour on-board technology to ensure smooth operations and a reliabletravel experience.
  • Collaborate oncross-functional projects to improve network performance andconnectivity, to enhance future setup of our mobile devices or ourRolling Stock or to optimize costs andsimilar.
  • Train and mentor engineering andoperational teams on network troubleshooting and best practices tomaintain operational excellence.
  • Definetechnical specifications for onboard technology as well as networkset-up to meet FlixTrain's requirements and ensure feasibleinterfaces to the rolling stock, which enables reliability andscalability.
  • Define test scenarios and carryout functional tests and validations, particularly at the interfacewith customers and certifiers.
  • You activelyparticipate in the design and revision process with manufacturersand sub-suppliers of such.
  • Maintaindocumentation and standards of our onboard technologysolutions.
  • Stay at the forefront oftechnological advancements, evaluating emerging trends like 5G andIoT for their potential impact.
YourProfile – Ready to driveinnovation
  • Bachelor’s or Master’sdegree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, ElectricalEngineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years ofrelevant professional experience in network architecture, WiFisystems, or (mobile) device management, preferably in the field ofrolling stock engineering.
  • Advancedproblem-solving skills with experience troubleshooting complexnetwork systems.
  • Strong project managementcapabilities and the ability to lead cross-functionalteams.
  • Collaborative mindset and excellentcommunication skills to engage both technical and non-technicalstakeholders effectively.
  • As a plus, you haveexperience in working with system suppliers for rolling stock andunderstand contractual, technical and regulatory aspects of therail industry.
  • Fluency in English and German isrequired.
