European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (ESMC) is a joint venture between four technology leaders, TSMC, Bosch, Infineon and NXP, to establish a state-of-the-art semiconductor fab in the heart of Europe. Senior Legal Counsel with focus Public & Private construction
Job Summary/Role
ESMC welcomes a person who is willing to support its projects to build a new fab in Dresden as a member of the legal team. Major responsibilities include:
- All construction, ramping and operations related activities, cooperating with the relevant ESMC and TSMC internal functions as well as external consultants.
- During the (pre)construction phase, supporting and steering BImschG and other permits together with engineering consultants as well as external counsel.
- Experience with contracting with (general) contractors.
- General corporate governance and compliance related matters.

Qualifications and Education
- German law degree and qualified in Germany (“2. Staatsexamen”)
- Minimum of 7 years of legal experience in civil construction law and/or public permitting rules and regulations, ideally in combination with general commercial transactions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; capable of articulating complex concepts and solutions in a multi-cultural environment
- Semiconductor industry experience preferred.
The successful candidate also needs good interpersonal skills and the strong motivation to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment that demands interaction with various functions.
Training/Onboarding
Some travel to NL and TW might be needed (less than 10%)
