Senior Legal Manager

Wenham Carter are partnered with a rapidly expanding automotive company who have a strong global presence and a reputation for innovation, quality, and cutting-edge technology. With a successful history in their home market, this client are excited to bring vehicles and services to the European market, starting with Munich, Germany.
They are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Legal Manager to join the legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the automotive industry and will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice, managing legal risks, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of matters including commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and litigation.
- Oversee and manage the company’s legal affairs, ensuring that all activities are compliant with local, national, and international laws.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to protect the company’s interests and mitigate risks.
- Lead negotiations on complex contracts and agreements with suppliers, partners, and customers.
- Stay current with changes in laws and regulations affecting the automotive industry and advise senior management on potential impacts.
- Collaborate with various departments to support business objectives and ensure legal alignment.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings and manage external legal counsel as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of legal experience, with significant experience in the automotive industry.
- Proven track record of providing strategic legal counsel in a corporate setting.
- Strong understanding of automotive industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of legal professionals.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- German speaker
