Job Description:

  • Rakuten Symphony provides innovative technology to clients in the telecommunications industry and is handling its largest project in Germany. This is a long-term project spanning 10 years and is significant both in terms of financial value and importance.
  • The project team is spread across the globe, including the United States, Singapore, India, Japan, and Germany. Therefore, you will be required to communicate with project members from diverse backgrounds, accurately grasp global developments, and coordinate stakeholders' interests as needed.
  • This position reports directly to the management team in Germany. You will be responsible for the overall performance management of the project, reporting progress to management through financial control and analysis, identifying issues, proposing solutions, and leading the project to success.


Responsibilities:

  • Collect sales and cost information for the entire 1&1 project and report the performance outlook to stakeholders.
  • Gather sales and cost information from the start of the 1&1 project to the present and report the performance to stakeholders.
  • Clarify the differences in assumptions between the initial plan of the 1&1 project and the current or future outlook.
  • Analyze the factors causing the differences in assumptions and propose improvement measures and action plans to management.
  • Manage the performance of the 1&1 project through variance analysis and performance forecasts.
  • Lead the budgeting process for the 1&1 project (including scenario analysis and inter-departmental coordination).


Accountabilities:

  • Lead the provision of reliable performance data from a financial and accounting perspective.
  • Collaborate with the tech team to build the information infrastructure.
  • Advanced Excel skills and leadership in improving operational efficiency through systematization are required.
  • Lead the analysis tasks related to the performance of the 1&1 project.
  • Identify issues through analysis and propose solutions.
  • Collaborate with the 1&1 project management team, HQ, and related departments to plan and execute the budget.


Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience in finance and accounting (approx. 10 years or more)
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and business performance analysis, acting as a good partner of management team
  • Accounting knowledge of IFRS and basic IT skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
