The School of Medicineis both an education-intensive and research-intensive school,embedded within a program dedicated to community service. TheMission of the School is to educate medical students, graduatestudents, and postdoctoral fellows in accordance with the highestprofessional standards; to train competent and caring physicians topractice patient-centered medicine of the highest standard; and toidentify and answer fundamental questions in the mechanisms,prevention, and treatment of disease, in health care delivery andin the basic biomedical sciences.

The Vision ofthe undergraduate curriculum is to produce leaders in Medicine whowill learn to apply the foundation of a broad medical education toimprove health at a National and International level throughpatient care, research, and education.

Thesix-year curriculum at EUC is a competency-based integratedcurriculum. Integration reflects courses that not only bringtogether the various basic disciplines, but also clinical, factual,experiential sources of information. The overall aim is to fosterthe understanding and performance of professional activities inmedicine in our students at an early stage of their education. TheMedical program has been fully recognized by the EuropeanParliament and Council on the Internal Market Information System,giving the Medical Degree equivalency across Europe, as well as hasbeen approved by the Educational Commission for Foreign MedicalGraduates (EDFMG) permitting graduates to take US Medical LicensingExamination (USMLE) and practice in the USA. The program “Doctor ofMedicine” has been fully accredited by the National Agency(C.Y.Q.A.A.), through the accreditation processes of the WorldFederation of Medical Education, ensuring that the program operatesat the highest academic standards.

EUCSchool of Medicine currently seeks to recruit qualifiedacademics at any academic rank for itsFrankfurt branch, Germany, in the followingdisciplines:

• InternalMedicine

Duties andresponsibilities:

• Asdescribed in the University’s Charter byLaws

Qualificationsrequired:

  • MedicalDegree (preferably with a PhD) or a holder of PhD with relevantexpertise
  • Fluent in English (for alldisciplines) and German (for clinicaldisciplines)

Former TeachingExperience:

  • For the rank ofLecturer substantial proof of competence inteaching and research is required
  • For the rankof Assistant Professor at least 3 years ofcontinuous academic and research experience in renowned academicinstitutions is required
  • For the rank ofAssociate Professor at least 8 years ofcontinuous academic and research experience in renowned academicinstitutions is required
  • For the rank ofProfessor at least 12 years of continuousacademic and research experience in renowned academic institutionsis required

Thequalifications that can substitute the Doctorate for the electionand promotion in the field of Medicineare:

  • For the rankof Lecturer: (i) the candidate holds a post of Lectureror a higher academic post, in a Medicine specialty of a recognizedUniversity, or (ii) holds a diploma in Medicine and a Medicinespecialty and at least three years of work experience afterobtaining a diploma in Medicine, at a recognized Medicine School,or at a recognized Research Institution (Institute) or at aTertiary Hospital (Hospital).
  • For therank of Assistant Professor: the candidate (i) holds apost of Assistant Professor or a post of higher rank in a Medicinespecialty or a recognized University or a post of Lecturer in aMedicine specialty of a recognized University, having at leastthree years experience in it, or (ii) holds a diploma in Medicineand a Medicine specialty and at least six years of work experienceafter obtaining a diploma in Medicine, at a recognized MedicineSchool, or at a recognized Research Institution (Institute) or at aTertiary Hospital (Hospital).
  • For therank of Associate Professor: the candidate (i) holds apost of Associate Professor or a post of a higher academic rank, ina Medicine specialty of a recognized University or a post ofAssistant Professor in a Medicine specialty of a recognizedUniversity, having at least four years experience in it, or (ii)holds a diploma in Medicine and a Medicine specialty and at leastten years of work experience, after obtaining a diploma in arecognized Medicine School or at a recognized Research Institution(Institute) or Tertiary Hospital(Hospital).
  • For the rank of Professor:the candidate (i) holds a post of Professor, in aMedicine specialty of a recognized University or a post ofAssociate Professor in a Medicine specialty of a recognizedUniversity, having at least four years experience in it or (ii) thecandidate holds a diploma in Medicine and a Medicine specialty andat least thirteen years of work experience after obtaining adiploma in Medicine, at a recognized Medicine School or at arecognized Research Institution (Institute) or a Tertiary Hospital(Hospital).
