For our client a technologyfocused company is seeking a talented individual to fill the position of Senior Power Electronics Technology Manager within its corporate research department.

Location: Bonn Aachen/flexible across Germany (hybrid work mode)

Primary function:
  • Development of advanced technology projects leveraging German and European government funding with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cooperate with a team of scientists and engineers specializing in various technology areas that are part of the Power Electronics Technologies Department of Company s Corporate Research Organization. Strategic guidance and coaching.
  • Champion technology realization programs utilizing our internal project execution processes.
  • Facilitate communication and cooperation between Companys locations in the region and globally
  • Support a team of scientists and engineers specializing in various technology areas that are part of the Power Electronics Technologies Department of Company s Corporate Research Organization.
Further broader responsibilities for this role are:
  • Developing research proposals and obtaining government funding to advance research in the area of Power Electronics as relevant for the client as well as develop and maintaining relationships with the external technical community.
  • Developing technology roadmaps and strategies as it relates to European region as well as support relationships with companys stakeholders (engineering product lines government programs team) and champion technology realization and sound business case.
  • Guidance coaching and development of the technical staff.
  • The position will report to the VP Engineering & Technology EMEA and functional to the Global Technology Manager."


Requirements

Requirements:

  • PhD or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Expertise in power and energy systems area
  • Research &Development experience in either of these fields: power electronics power systems DC distribution microgrids protection power conversion renewable energy integration motor controls and drives electrification of vehicles and aircraft
  • Developing and executing EU and German government funded projects will be welcome
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and German (oral and written)

Qualifications: PhD. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Minimum 10 years of experience in R&D - power electronics and electronics design (DC/DC converters) Modeling and simulation (Matlab, Plecs, Altium, Eagle, Spice) Strong understanding of circuit theory, containing power electronics (solid state circuit breaking) Experience in designing cutting-edge electronics (SiC, GaN (silicone-carbide, gallium nitride) Ability to demonstrate problem solving using logic and methods to tackle diverse problems
