The BodyTEC Center bears end-to-end responsibility for the production of body parts such as side panels, doors, hoods, fenders, etc. This includes all process steps from the development of forming tools through to production in the press shop. In this environment, the Toolmaking Technology Development team deals with cross-departmental, interdisciplinary topics. One current focus, for example, is the hybrid-additive production of tool components and sustainability in car body part production along the entire process chain.

These are some of the challenges you will face:

Working in the subject area of toolmaking as well as in the day-to-day business of the Technology Development Toolmaking team
Conducting experiments in a practical environment and documenting measurement data - subsequent evaluation, validation and assessment of the measurement data in comparison to simulative models
Support in the field of additive manufacturing using laser metal deposition
Sample preparation in the materials technology laboratory with subsequent metallographic examination and evaluation
Collaboration on innovation topics in the field of sheet metal processing, e.g. sustainability and digitalization in manufacturing
Working with the doctoral students and other employees in the team on the written preparation and documentation of results by creating graphics or presentations
Qualifikationen
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, production and manufacturing technology, materials engineering, materials science or a comparable course of study
CAD/CAM experience desirable
Confident handling of MS Office
Previous knowledge of Python an advantage
Confident written and spoken German and English skills
Analytical and conceptual way of thinking
Ability to work in a team and structured way of working
Good communication skills
